Description:

The Cognitive Science of Language program at McMaster University is now
welcoming applications at the MSc and PhD levels for the academic year
2021–2022. All applications received before or on January 31st, 2021, will be
considered. All accepted PhD students will be offered a funding package worth
a minimum of $25,000 CAD to cover tuition and living expenses. All accepted
domestic MSc students will be offered a funding package worth a minimum of
$16,000 CAD.

Based in the Department of Linguistics and Languages, the graduate program is
interdisciplinary, including faculty from Humanities, Science, and Health
Sciences. The program has a strong research orientation with expertise in
theoretical linguistics (syntax, syntax-semantics interface, syntax-morphology
interface), experimental syntax, phonetics, psycholinguistics, corpus
linguistics, and neurolinguistics.

The program introduces students to the issues in those fields that form the
nexus of, linguistics, cognitive science and cognitive neuroscience, and
trains them in the research methods employed to study them.

More information about the program can be found at

Many of them are affiliated with the Centre for Advanced Research in
Experimental and Applied Linguistics (ARiEAL) that lists their most recent
