The 22nd Meeting of the International Circle of Korean Linguistics
National Chengchi University, Taipei, Taiwan 
16-18 August 2021 

The 22nd Biennial Meeting of the International Circle of Korean Linguistics
(ICKL22) will be held at National Chengchi University, Taipei, Taiwan on 16-18
August 2021 (arrival and banquet on 16 August 2021; conference presentations
on 17-18 August 2021). This will be the fourth international academic fest
focusing on Korean since the merger of the Harvard-ISOKL (Harvard
International Symposium on Korean Linguistics) into the ICKL (International
Circle of Korean Linguistics), and also be the first ICKL conference in
Taiwan. 

Please note that the conference venue and/or the manner of participation is
subject to change due to the potential complexities caused by the COVID19
spread. Although it would not be easy to predict, especially with numerous
planned conferences being affected by the virus, the organizing committee
strongly believes that we still can prepare. In this vein, participants are
encouraged to submit your work and contribute to the ICKL conference. The
organizing committee will keep you posted regarding all the pertinent updates
to the academic fest.

We welcome abstracts for papers on any aspect of Korean language and
linguistics including, but not limited to; Phonetics, Phonology, Morphology,
Syntax, Semantics, Pragmatics, Historical-Comparative Linguistics,
Psycholinguistics, Cognitive Linguistics, Sociolinguistics, Discourse &
Grammaticalisation, First & Second Language Acquisition, and Language
Education.

Call for Papers:  

We welcome abstracts touching on any of the above-listed (or related) fields
for oral presentation (20 minute talk and 10 minute discussion). Abstracts
must be submitted electronically to the following address:

with the author(s)’ information in a separate page including name,
affiliation, title of the presentation, and email address. 

Abstracts must be submitted as a single-spaced page, 1-inch margins all
around, and in Times 12-point font. It should be submitted in the pdf format.
If you need to use phonetic characters, please make sure that they are
displayed correctly and embed the special fonts into the document. The content
can be any combination of text, figures, tables, and examples. References can
be optionally given on the second page.

Abstracts will be reviewed anonymously and therefore must exclude all
references to the author(s).
