Subject: New M.A. Track in Language Policy

The MA Program in Applied Linguistics at Central Connecticut State University
is pleased to announce the addition of a new track in Language Policy and
Planning (LPP) in addition to our longstanding track in TESOL. The 30-credit
MA track includes a foundation in linguistic and social theory relevant to
LPP. It draws on faculty strengths in both the Applied Linguistics program
and the university's robust Master's program in International Studies.
Students explore educational, institutional, and governmental policy related
to language use and support. A thesis is the required capstone.

Graduates from the program will find opportunities in school administration or
will engage with language management within governmental, non-profit, and
private institutions.

Central Connecticut State University is a Master's-level public university
with around 12,000 students. It is located in New Britain, CT, and is well
connected by a bus-way to Hartford and further by commuter rail to New Haven
and New York City.

For more information, e-mail Dr. Matt Ciscel (ciscelm at ccsu.edu) and see our
program website: https://www.ccsu.edu/english/tesol/
