Meeting Description:

As in previous years, we intend to cover a wide range of topics, encompassing
all the domains and directions of research in the study of Romanian and in
general linguistics, bringing together a large number of researchers from
Romania and abroad.

Keynote speakers:
 - Carmen Dobrovie-Sorin (CNRS-LLF, University of Paris)
 - Martin Maiden (University of Oxford)
 - Jacqueline Visconti (University of Genoa)

The conference will be the host of two workshops: 
 - Standardization and Usage: A Comparative Approach
 - Tradition and Innovation in the Study and Preservation of Istro-Romanian
(see the calls for papers below)

Conference languages: Romanian, English, French.

The conference will be held online using the Google Meet platform. A few days
before the event, participants will receive the meeting link to join the main
sections, as well as the workshops and plenary speeches. 

No registration fee applies to the main conference, plenary speeches, and
workshops.


Call for Papers: 

We encourage a wide range of different types of abstracts, including but not
limited to the following fields: 
- morphology, syntax, phonetics, and phonology;
- pragmatics and stylistics;
- lexicology and lexicography, semantics, and terminology;
- history of language, philology, and dialectology;
- teaching Romanian as a mother tongue and as a foreign language.

Submitted abstracts should be one page in length. Please send abstracts no
later than October 25, 2020 to: colocviu.lingvistica.2020 at gmail.com.

Notification of acceptance: November 5, 2020.

Presentations will be scheduled for 30 minute slots (20 minutes followed by 10
minutes for discussion).
