Description:

The Department of Linguistics at the University of Texas at Austin invites
applications for a position in Computational Linguistics at the rank of
Assistant Professor (tenure track). The position, which is subject to budget
availability, will start in Fall 2021.

We invite applicants from all areas of specialization within Computational
Linguistics; we are particularly interested in candidates who use
sophisticated computational techniques to gain insight into the nature and
structure of human language. We encourage collaboration within the department
and with computational linguists in other departments at UT.

The selected candidate will be expected to teach both undergraduate and
graduate courses, develop a strong research program with a promise of
continued productivity, apply for external funding as appropriate and
necessary for the success of his/her research program, direct graduate
research, show evidence of a commitment to diversity in higher education, and
exhibit a commitment to service to the department, college, and university.

Salary is competitive and dependent on qualifications and experience. 

Qualifications:
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Computational Linguistics or related field or
expect it no later than August 2021. Applicants should be able to demonstrate
a successful publishing and research trajectory. Applicants must show
potential as an effective classroom teacher at both the undergraduate and
graduate levels.
