Subject: Call for Editor(s) - Journal of Language and Discrimination

The Journal of Language and Discrimination is inviting applications for a new
Editor(s). After a five-year term, the current editors - Laura Paterson and
Isabelle van der Bom - are stepping down. We welcome applications from
individual candidates, but would also consider joint applications where two
people would like to co-edit together.

The Journal of Language and Discrimination was established in 2016 and is
published by Equinox. It is an interdisciplinary journal publishing
peer-reviewed papers, short research notes, book reviews, and interviews from
across a broad spectrum. The journal focuses on the shaping effect of language
in situations of discrimination, but also includes research on language
ideology and language-focused discrimination; i.e. discrimination towards a
language, or towards users of a particular language variety. The journal
provides a unique platform to broadcast the diversity and interdisciplinarity
of research on language and discrimination, whilst maintaining a unifying
focus. As such, it supports the development of new understandings and new
approaches to the study of language and discrimination. For further
information on the journal, please see
https://journals.equinoxpub.com/JLD/index.

The position of Editor will be available from January 2021 and it is expected
that the incoming postholder will take this role for a five year period. The
