Description:

The Department of English at Virginia Tech invites applications for a one-year
Visiting Assistant Professor position in Linguistics to begin August 2021. 

Required:
- Ph.D. in hand by 1 August 2021 in Linguistics or a related field with
preparation in sociolinguistics;
- The promise of research and publication; and 
- Evidence of successful teaching.

Preferred:
- Publication in sociolinguistics;
- Ability to teach psycholinguistics and language & gender;
- Teaching/working with diverse populations.

Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in sociolinguistics;
serving on departmental committees. Teaching load 3/3. The successful
candidate will be required to have a criminal background check.
