Meeting Description:

The Linguistics Conference at the UGA is an annual grad student run
conference, and the Linguistics Society at UGA is proud to bring you its 7th
installment. The central focus of this year’s conference is ''Language and
Connection.'' We encourage presentations with creative interpretations of the
central theme and that span academic fields, as well as connect academia with
the larger community. We are proud to welcome our plenary speakers, Dr. Lelia
Glass of Georgia Tech and Dr. Robin Dodsworth of North Carolina State
University, who will share their insight on topics related to this theme.

This year's conference will be simulcast on Gather, so we are happy to accept
abstract submissions for virtual presentations and attendees from anywhere in
the world.

Call for Papers:

All papers presented will be eligible for publication in our LCUGA
proceedings.

Applicants are welcome to submit up to two abstracts, one single-authored and
one co-authored contribution. Presenters will be allotted 20 minutes, plus
5-10 minutes of discussion. Abstracts should not exceed 500 words (not
including title and references); any examples should be incorporated into the
text of the abstract with relevant figures, charts, and/or graphs included on
a single separate page. Abstracts must be in PDF or Word (.doc/.docx) format,
and must not include any personally identifying information. Submissions that
do not comply with the above guidelines will not be considered for acceptance.

Please submit all abstracts via EasyAbs. For questions and inquiries regarding
