Meeting Description:

The Workshop on the prosody of Catalan (previously ''Workshop on Catalan
intonation and Cat_ToBI'') reaches its 12th edition. Communications on any
suprasegmental aspect of the Catalan language from a phonetic and phonological
point of view are accepted. Contributions related to interdisciplinary
research on the prosody of Catalan are also accepted, including the interface
between prosody and pragmatics, prosody and syntax, prosody and gesturality,
prosody and acquisition, among others.

The workshop is organized by a network of research groups from the University
of Barcelona, ​​Pompeu Fabra University, the Menorcan Institute of Studies and
the University of the Balearic Islands. The 12th edition of the workshop,
which is organized by the UIB and the UB Phonetics Laboratory, will take place
online on July 15, 2021. Attendance is free, but you are kingly required to
register before June 30.

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: May 30, 2021.


Call for Papers: 

At the Workshop on the prosody of Catalan, summaries are accepted on any
aspect of the prosody of Catalan. Contributions related to interdisciplinary
research in the prosody of Catalan are also accepted, including the interface
between prosody and pragmatics, prosody and syntax, prosody and gestures,
prosody and acquisition, among others. Abstracts may be written in any Romance
language (preferably in Catalan) or in English. There will be an arbitration
selection process.

Abstract format: 
Before submitting the communication proposal, it is mandatory to register
using this form

Abstracts must be submitted in DOC and PDF format. The maximum length of
abstracts is one page of text, and one more page can be added to include
bibliographic references and figures. The margin of the pages should be 2.5 cm
on all four sides (in A4 format). Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt., single
spaced. The first line of the abstract must include the title in bold, the
second line must include the name (s) of the author (s), the third line must
include the respective affixes, and the fourth line should include emails. A
blank line must be left between the title lines and the abstract text.

An anonymous copy of the summary must also be submitted.

You can send the abstracts (the anonymous copy and the one that includes the
names) by e-mail before May 30, 2021, to the following e-mail address:
prosodia.catala at hotmail.com. Notification of acceptance or non-acceptance of
the abstracts will take place on June 30, 2021.
