Description:

The Department of Linguistics, Faculty of Liberal Arts, Thammasat University,
in Bangkok, Thailand, currently has one teaching position available. 

We invite applications primarily from Thai nationals who graduated (or will
soon graduate) with a PhD in Linguistics (with a concentration in phonetics,
phonology, morphology, syntax or semantics), from a highly respected
university and, preferably, with experience researching and teaching in any of
the above fields of theoretical linguistics. For more information on

circle” English with equivalent qualifications and backgrounds are also
encouraged to apply, but please ask for more specific screening details from:

Prospective applicants are also expected to have good interpersonal and
cross-cultural communication skills, an ability to work both individually and
in a team, and most importantly, familiarity with a Thai work setting.
Teaching load is two courses (or three courses in the case of non-Thai
applicants) per semester at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Other job
responsibilities include assistance with administrative matters and in the
editorial team of the bi-annually published journal Language and Linguistics.

Inaugurated in 1962, we are the oldest linguistics department in Thailand and
the only one to offer a BA in Linguistics, as well as an MA in Linguistics and
a PhD in Linguistics. Our faculty members are engaged in teaching and research
in the major areas of linguistics. We publish Language and Linguistics, the
only specialized linguistics journal in Thailand, which provides a forum for
the publication of original articles in language-related issues and
linguistics.
