Meeting Description:

We are delighted to announce that the 40th meeting of the West Coast
Conference on Formal Linguistics (WCCFL 40) will take place on the weekend of
May 13-15, 2022. It will be hosted by the Department of Linguistics at
Stanford University, the department that hosted WCCFL 1 in 1982. Please save
the date!

The West Coast Conference on Formal Linguistics, or WCCFL (pronounced
/ˈwɪkfəl/) is an annual linguistics conference, usually held in the spring at
a university in western North America. Research presented at WCCFL can focus
on any theoretical or formal aspect of natural language analysis, including
phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics and discourse structure,
and their interfaces.

A call for abstracts will be posted on Linguist List in autumn 2021.

The format of WCCFL 40 — hybrid vs. virtual — will be determined at a later
date.

For questions, please contact the organizing committee at
wccfl2022 at stanford.edu

The Organizing Committee
(Arto Anttila, Cleo Condoravdi, Vera Gribanova, Boris Harizanov, Dan Lassiter,
and Beth Levin)
