Subject: Accessible Intro Textbook?

 
I'll be teaching an Intro to Linguistics course this spring. My students will
need a text that is not overly challenging. I've used a number of the better
known ones over the years, fine texts, but wanted to ask if anyone knows of a
text that may be especially accessible and geared toward non-specialist
students. I'm open to non-traditional approaches that may leave the core areas
less covered in favor of a general, wide-ranging introduction to language and
culture. Many thanks!
