Subject: Native Arabic Speakers Needed for Undergraduate Student Thesis

Hi Everyone!

My name is Raef and I am a senior undergraduate student at NYU completing my
honors thesis in Linguistics. I am studying whether linguistic prestige
factors into how Google Assistant understand different dialects of Arabic. I
am currently looking for native Arabic speakers to record commands that I will
play to Google Assistant. The study can be done in the comfort of your home,
all you need is a quiet space and a microphone. It should take no more than
10-15 minutes to complete (though we budget up to 30). Please see my
advertisement below, share this around, and contact me if you're eligible.
Thank you!

Do you speak Arabic? We need your help! Come participate in this study where
we research factors behind how Google Assistant understands Arabic. We will
ask you to record 10 commands in Modern Standard Arabic and 10 commands in
your native dialect. You will be compensated with a $10 Amazon gift card for
your time. You may be eligible if you:

- Speak Arabic natively
- Are from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, or Morocco
- Are between 40-65
- Immigrated to the US after 18, and currently reside in the US

If you are interested in participating, please contact us at rtk293 at nyu.edu.
If you don’t meet eligibility, send this to someone who might!
