Linguistic Field(s): General Linguistics

Call Deadline: 14-Jan-2022

Meeting Description:

Every spring, the Linguistics Graduate Student Association at UNC-Chapel Hill
puts on its annual Spring Colloquium. We invite fellow linguists from all over
to present and discuss current topics of interest in the field in an all-day
conference. The Colloquium is free for all who present or attend; there is no
registration fee.

The Linguistics Department at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
will be accepting abstracts for its 2022 Spring Colloquium starting November
11th. The conference will be held Saturday, March 26th, 2022 with Dr. Steven
Piantadosi from UC Berkeley and Jason Rothman from The Arctic University of
Norway as keynote speakers. The conference will be held virtually on Zoom.
Papers and posters are invited on any topic in all areas of Linguistics. Paper
presentations will be 20 minutes long (in English) followed by a 10-minute
discussion period. It will again feature a poster session during the coffee
hour after its small but mighty success last year. This year, we would love to
have even more submissions especially from undergraduate students who might
not otherwise have an opportunity to present their work.

2nd Call for Papers:

Abstracts should be no longer than one page in 12-point font with an optional
second page for examples, figures, tables, and/or references.

Please do not include any author information in your abstract. Abstracts
containing identifying information will not be considered.

Please follow this link to submit an abstract:
http://linguistlist.org/easyabs/UNCColloq2022

The deadline for submission is Sunday, January 14, 2022. Those accepted will
be notified no later than Sunday, February 11, 2022. If you have any
difficulties submitting your abstract, please contact the Colloquium Committee
at LingColloquium at unc.edu.
