Meeting Description:

The fourth conference on Technological Innovation for Specialised Linguistic
Domains (TISLID 22), Positive impacts of language technology, is to be held at
Complutense University, Madrid, Spain (27-28th May, 2022). It will be hosted
by the UNED-based ATLAS research group together with the University of
Almería, Complutense University of Madrid, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid
and the University of Wolverhampton. The format of the conference will be
online with the possibility of face-to-face workshops and round tables in UNED
and the University of Wolverhampton. 


2nd Call for Papers:

TISLID’ 22 aims at providing a forum for researchers, teachers, educational
representatives, language specialists and translators to share their knowledge
and promote academic debate on digital language technologies, with a special
focus on their potential for promoting communication and (lifelong) learning.

TISLID’ 22 welcomes (but is not limited to) topics in the following areas:

- Language Technologies: Ontologically-based databases; CAT; Lexical and
terminological applications; digital lexicography; the semantic web
- TELL (Technologically-enhanced Language Learning): CALL; MALL; CMC; MOOCs;
Telecollaboration
- Technologies for Interlingual and Multilingual Communication: the impact of
real-time translation on minority languages; language and social practices in
a mobile digital culture; multilingualism and interculturality in the digital
era; learning and preserving minority languages in the digital era.

Mark Pegrum (The University of Western Australia)
Nicky Hockly, Director of Pedagogy of The Consultants-E (TCE)
Julio C. Rodríguez (Hawaii University)

Guidelines for Abstract Submission:
Please submit an anonymous copy of your abstract (max. 300 words, excluding
references), in Word or PDF format, via email to: tislid22 at ucm.es. Please
include paper title, name, affiliation, email address and any other contact
details in the body of the e-mail message. Participants may submit a maximum
of two abstracts. All abstracts will be double blind peer-reviewed. Paper
presentations will be allocated 20 minutes, plus 10 minutes for questions and
discussion.
Contributions should be submitted in English.

Conference Publication: The studies presented at the conference will be
selected for publication in a special issue of a prestigious journal in the
field (Social Sciences Citation Index) or as book chapters in a collective
volume by an international publishing house. We will send you the related
publishing guidelines in due time.

Submission Deadlines:
Deadline for Abstract proposals: 31 January 2022

Registration fee:
Until 4 April 2022: 60 euros (25 euros for students with valid ID)
After 4 April 2022: 80 euros (35 euros for students with valid ID)
