Subject: Thematic Anthology: U.S. Traditional Spanish

How will traditional varieties of Spanish (Spanish dialects that began before
the formation of the United States) survive and thrive in these pandemic
times? In the 21st century, on what aspects of their language are traditional
Spanish communities focusing? How have U.S. Spanish dialects changed/reacted
to the systemic shift in communication now? If you have relevant research, I'd
like to gather a thematic anthology describing traditional Spanish as we move
to a ''new normal.'' (I'll study Isleño Spanish; you pick your area of
expertise.)

Please email Felice Coles (fcoles at olemiss.edu) for more information.
I'm looking to collect with a May 1st deadline.
