Abstract:

The book La chanson camerounaise : Langue(s) et style(s) is a collection of
articles that explores linguistic and stylistic features of Cameroon music.
The book is divided into three sections. The first section contains articles
that have the main focus on discourse features; the section two deals mainly
with stylistic issues and the last section describes the sociolinguistics
characteristics that Cameroon music industry portrays. It should be reminded
that the Cameroon is a melting pot of diverse languages, cultures and
ethnic-tribes. Cameroon is also a melting pot of diverse artistically woven
rhythms inscribed in the domain of ethnomusicology and spiced with modern
symphonic rhythms. These rhythms range from popular brands like Makossa and
Bikutsi to less popular ones.
