Description:
The New York-St. Petersburg Institute of Linguistics, Cognition and Culture is
an interdisciplinary institute focusing on theoretical linguistics as well as
critical cultural studies

NYI is open to advanced undergraduate and graduate students from all
backgrounds and countries interested in comparative and formal approaches to
theoretical linguistics as well as race and gender studies and literature and
fine arts.

Participants create their own study program from seminars in the following
fields:
- Generative Linguistics (Phonetics, Phonology, Morphology, Syntax, Semantics,
Gesture Studies, Experimental Linguistics)
- Critical Cultural Studies (Race and Ethnicity Studies; Gender Studies;
Literature; Visual Arts)
