Meeting Description:

The present colloquium is the first of the planned annual colloquium on
Chinese language and dialects that is jointly organized by SOAS University of
London and Humboldt University of Berlin, with the aim to promote studies on
Chinese language and dialects in Europe and world-wide. We welcome other
universities to join us in co-organizing future meetings with different themes
and in hosting on-campus meetings when the Covid-19 pandemic is over.


Call for Papers: 

Abstract submission: Abstracts are invited with no more than three pages in
length (including references), which should be submitted via Easychair by 15
April, 2021. Results will be posted on 15 May. Submission link:

Abstract language: English or Chinese

Meeting Format: Zoom Meeting

Scope: Descriptions and theoretical analyses on grammatical aspects of Wu
dialects, reports on the collection and processing of Wu data and scripts, as
well as pioneering studies on understudied works in/on Wu. 

Please submit your work by uploading an anonymous pdf file in Easychair while
inputting your personal information separately. Please use the Leipzig
Glossing Convention when providing examples and give link to the special
romanization system used.
