Description:

Michigan State University seeks to fill a one semester, fixed-term position in
Linguistics, with a specialization in first language acquisition. The position
will begin January 1, 2022 for the Spring semester of 2022, in the Department
of Linguistics, Languages, and Cultures.

Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications. Rank is determined
by highest degree with a Masters degree required for an instructor position
and a PhD required for an assistant professor position. All degrees must be
confirmed by degree-granting institutions at the time of hire.

Teaching load will be 3 undergraduate courses: an upper level introduction to
First Language Acquisition, and two sections of an upper level introduction to
Linguistics.

Desired Qualifications:
- PhD or ABD in linguistics or related field at the time of appointment.
- Research experience in linguistics and language acquisition, and a
demonstrated record of teaching at the undergraduate level, preferably in the
US. Candidates with research experience in other areas but with teaching first
language acquisition will also be considered.
