The Department of English and American Studies at Universität Kassel, Germany,
invites applications for the following post (reference number: 34106):
Lecturer (Lehrkraft für besondere Aufgaben, half-time position, E13 TV-H 50%),
for 12 months, starting October 1, 2021.

Specifications: Applicants should hold an MA (or equivalent degree) in English
or General Linguistics. Advanced skills in English and German are necessary.

The post involves teaching linguistics courses (7 SWS per week) in the BA / MA
programs of the English department. Language of instruction is English.
Preference will be given to candidates whose teaching expertise lies in the
fields of theoretical linguistics and the core areas of grammar as well as its
interfaces with a focus on English.

The post offers the opportunity to develop, in close cooperation with the
Chair of English Linguistics, a proposal for a research project including
funding of a research position for the applicant. The ideal candidate’s
research interest has a focus in theoretical linguistics and
semantic-pragmatic phenomena (e.g., expressivity in language) and in the
