Call Deadline: 31-May-2022 

Call for Papers:

The Canadian Journal of Linguistics invites submissions to a special issue on
Teaching and Learning in Linguistics. The issue is open to a wide range of
methods of inquiry, including but not limited to:
- surveys or interviews of learners and teachers
- reflections on novel assessments, grading practices, or teaching tools
- experimental comparisons of learner performance

Manuscripts about language teaching are not in the scope of this special issue
and will not be considered.
 
Submitted manuscripts should:
- Be relevant to the readership of CJL
- Consider questions that are broadly relevant to diverse learners and
teachers of Linguistics
- Demonstrate engagement with the relevant literature on the Scholarship of
Teaching and Learning
- Show compliance with the authors’ local ethical principles for research with
human participants
 
The editors for this special issue are Catherine Anderson (McMaster
University), Meg Grant (Simon Fraser University), and Nathan Sanders
(University of Toronto).

Potential contributors are invited to submit a 250-word abstract to the
editors at teaching.in.linguistics at gmail.com. Contributors of accepted
abstracts will be invited to submit a full paper, which will undergo the
standard peer review process.

Timeline:
Aug 18, 2021, 1:00 EDT: Q&A submission workshop with the special issue
editors. Contact teaching.in.linguistics at gmail.com for the link.
September 30, 2021: abstracts due
October 31, 2021: authors notified
May 31, 2022: manuscripts due
July 31, 2022: reviews returned to authors
Oct 1, 2022: revised manuscripts due
Nov 1, 2022: final decisions communicated to authors
Jan 1, 2023: final manuscripts due
