Subject: Announcing Cambridge Elements in Morphology

This is to announce a new series in the innovative Elements family of
publications from Cambridge University Press, namely, Cambridge Elements in
Morphology (CEiM; see
https://www.cambridge.org/core/what-we-publish/elements/morphology).

For a project to be included in the CEiM series, the crucial core of its
content is the study of words (elusive though the definition may at times be),
their formation, and their interrelations. The scope of a series in Morphology
is inevitably quite broad: not only functions and patterns, but also variation
and change, mental and computational processing, and many insights and
methodologies yet to be brought to light.

CEiM joins the growing set of topical series in Linguistics (and likewise in
disciplines well beyond) as part of the publishing concept “Elements”, which
stands in the format gap between the limits of conventional journal articles
and the sometimes too ample demands of the monograph format (see
https://www.cambridge.org/core/what-we-publish/elements ). The target range
for an individual Element is set between 20,000 and 30,000 words (40-75
pages), with allowance made – encouraged, in fact – for the inclusion of
ancillary materials online (for example, audiovisual samples, additional data,
computer code). Elements are conceived as online first, with the option for
printing on-demand. All submissions are rigorously peer-reviewed, with an eye
toward publishing in its online form within 12 weeks of final manuscript
acceptance. Authors retain copyright for their work. A range of user guides is
also available to answer any number of specific questions for prospective
Element authors (see
https://www.cambridge.org/core/what-we-publish/elements/cambridge-elements-inf
ormation-for-authors/user-guides).

If you are interested in contributing to the CEiM series, the series editor
can provide you with a proposal template upon e-mail request (completed
proposals should range between 2 and 3 pages).
