Temporary position 2021-2022

The University of Delaware
Newark, Delaware

The Department of Linguistics and Cognitive Science at the University of
Delaware invites applications for a temporary assistant professor position, to
support the Department's teaching needs. This appointment will commence
September 1, 2021 and will last for one year.

The primary responsibility of this position is to teach a 3+3 load that will
include a subset of the following courses:
- First Language Development
- Psycholinguistics
- Experimental Linguistics
- Acoustic Phonetics
- Introduction to Speech and Hearing Science
- Introduction to Cognitive Science
- Research Methods in Cognitive Science
- Elements of Cognitive Science
- Topics in Cognitive Science
- Sociolinguistics
- A graduate seminar in an area of specialization

This position will also be responsible for some undergraduate student
advising.

The University of Delaware combines leadership in research with a commitment
to undergraduate and graduate education. The main campus in Newark, Delaware
provides the amenities of a vibrant college town with convenient access to the
major cities of the East Coast. The Department of Linguistics and Cognitive
Science (https://www.lingcogsci.udel.edu) offers a PhD in Linguistics, a
Master's degree in Linguistics and Cognitive Science, a Bachelor of Science
degree in Cognitive Science (with a concentration in Pre-Professional
Speech-Language Pathology), and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics. The
Department is comprised of 11 full-time faculty and enrolls approximately 30
PhD students, 11 MA students, 300 undergraduate majors and 84 minors. The
Department also has ties to a Clinical Master's Program in Communication
Sciences and Disorders. This program includes a Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic
(http://sites.udel.edu/cscd/clinic/), which opened in fall 2015.
