Description:

This is a faculty appointment including research, knowledge transference,
teaching, and service duties. We are looking for a candidate with strong data
science skills combined with a scientific understanding of human language
underpinning engineering techniques. While pursuing his or her own research
agenda, the candidate is expected to be able to engage in interdisciplinary
collaboration with research groups in the Department and, more broadly, the
Catalan research ecosystem. 

Research areas:
- Corpus linguistics,
- Computational modeling of linguistic data or linguistic behavior,
- Creation and management of linguistic datasets (including multimodal data),
- Natural language processing,
- Natural language generation
- Must be familiar with non-symbolic methods, machine learning and neural
networks, and their application to natural language research. 

Teaching:
Main topical areas are computational linguistics and language technologies in
language-related degrees, at all higher education stages, from undergraduate
to PhD supervision. Potential assignments include general research methodology
courses. 

Salary: € 34.752 + start-up fund of 20,000€ negotiable.
