Description:

Tenure Track Assistant or Associate Professor in Linguistics starting
September 2022. Applicants must have a strong background in theoretical
linguistics, broadly defined, with an expertise in corpus linguistics and a
strong focus on data-intensive research. The successful candidate should
demonstrate a critical understanding of quantitative methods and their
application. Applicants studying any aspect of corpus linguistics are
encouraged to apply, although candidates whose corpus research intersects with
studies in first language acquisition, second language learning,
sociolinguistics, discourse analysis, or computational linguistics would be an
especially good fit with current faculty. The successful candidate will be
expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, have an active research
agenda, and participate in graduate mentoring and student advisement. The
successful candidate will also be expected to provide service to the
department, university and the larger professional community. Demonstrated
ability in grant seeking/writing is a plus.

Qualifications: 
 - Earned Ph.D. in Linguistics required at the time of appointment. 
 - Excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels is expected
and an active research agenda required. 
 - Experience in grant seeking/writing and willingness to provide service to
the department, university and the larger professional community are expected.
