Continuing Track Position in Phonetics/Phonology --or-- Speech/Language
Pathology

The Department of Linguistics and Cognitive Science
(https://www.lingcogsci.udel.edu/) 
in the College of Arts and Sciences invites applicants for a full-time
Continuing Track Instructor or Assistant Professor position in one of the
following areas: 
 - Phonetics/Phonology
 - Speech/Language Pathology

The appointment is expected to begin August 16, 2022.  The successful
applicant will join a community of faculty and students who are committed to
quality research and teaching in the areas of linguistics, communication and
disorders, and cognitive science.  The primary responsibility of this position
is to teach three courses per semester and participate in undergraduate
advising.  The majority of this teaching will be at the undergraduate level,
with some graduate level teaching and advising in phonetics/phonology. Other
responsibilities may include working with members of the Department on
curriculum and program development, typical departmental or university service
activities, or arranging clinical observation opportunities for
undergraduates.

Qualifications and Responsibilities:  
 - Phonetics/Phonology: 
Must have a PhD in linguistics or related field prior to appointment. The
successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in
teaching and will be able to fulfill departmental teaching needs in one of the
areas listed above. Demonstrated skill in teaching undergraduate linguistics
and/or cognitive science courses in related areas is also desirable. 
 
 - Speech/Language Pathology: 
Must have an MA/MS or doctoral degree in Speech/Language Pathology or related
field prior to appointment. ASHA certification is also desired.

Department of Linguistics and Cognitive Science at UD:  
The Department of Linguistics and Cognitive Science at the University of
Delaware (https://www.lingcogsci.udel.edu/) is within the College Arts and
Sciences. The Department houses a robust PhD program in Linguistics, an MA in
Linguistics and Cognitive Science, and growing undergraduate programs in
Cognitive Science and in Linguistics.  The Department serves more than 300
undergraduate majors and is the home for pre-professional training in
speech/language pathology.  The department is part of a university-wide
cognitive science community, including a diverse set of researchers from
various departments and colleges. The Department also has ties to the
Department of Communication Science and Disorders

a new interdisciplinary PhD program in neuroscience.
