Meeting Description:

The seminar will look at the global context in which Arabic is active, and how
individuals and organizations deal with Arabic in a context outside Arab
countries.


2nd Call for Papers:

The Arabic language and literature have long been present in different venues
at the global level where Arabic-speaking individuals have been engaged in
activities of language learning and mediation as well as those of literary
nature. Arabic is used by a large number of speakers around the world and is
an official language in many international organizations. It has also been
taught and studied in different universities and centers. 

International organizations and media channels have had Arabic as one of its
publishing languages whether in press or audiovisual productions. These also
have Arabic websites to disseminate reports, technical material and news. 

The present seminar will look at the global context in which Arabic is active,
and how individuals and organizations deal with Arabic in a context outside
Arab countries. Researchers are invited to submit abstracts about (but not
limited to) the following topics:

1. Arabic literature in translation
2. Arabic literature in diaspora
3. Self-translation of Arabic literature
4. Arabic in global business context (international organizations,
international companies such as Google, Microsoft, Netflix)

Abstracts should be between 300-400 words.
Presentations will be 20 minutes and 10 minutes for discussion.
