Meeting Description:

Specialized discourse and translation studies in Corpus Linguistics.

The Spanish Association of Corpus Linguistics (AELINCO) and the Bergamo
organizing committee of this conference edition are pleased to invite you to
the 13th International Conference of Corpus Linguistics (CILC2022), which will
take place from 26 to 28 May 2022 at the Department of Foreign Languages,
Literatures and Cultures of the University of Bergamo, Italy.

The two cornerstones of the conference will be the analysis of specialized
discourse from the perspectives of Corpus Assisted Discourse Analysis
Translation Studies. In consideration of the various facets of specialized
communication, the theme proposed will focus on the metadiscursive mechanisms
and persuasive, ideological or evaluative models that guide the textual
production of multiple communities of practice (in terms of building group or
gender identity, inclusion or rejection of otherness, etc.), despite the
alleged objectivity and lack of emotionality of specialized communication.

These aspects also include the applications of Corpus Linguistics parameters
aimed at investigating and clarifying the translation process and the teaching
of specialized translation through parallel and / or comparable specialized
corpora, in order to define a theoretical-methodological framework for
translatological research and to shed light on the possible role(s) played by
translation in current social changes.
