Description:

The Department of Spanish & Portuguese at the University of Texas at Austin
(https://liberalarts.utexas.edu/spanish/) is seeking applicants for an
Advanced Assistant /Associate Professor in Hispanic Linguistics, beginning
September 1, 2022. Applicants will be expected to teach courses at both the
graduate and undergraduate levels, to maintain an active research program, and
to provide service to the Department, College of Liberal Arts, and the
University. 
 
The candidate should be specialized in Second Language Acquisition and/or
Heritage Spanish and should employ experimental or computational methods in
the analysis of linguistic phenomena. Special consideration will be given to
candidates who can offer any, or a combination, of the following fields:
phonetics/phonology, syntax/semantics, discourse/pragmatics and who can carry
out field, laboratory or corpus research that links empirical findings to
theory. 

Applicants must hold a Ph.D., and native or near-native fluency in Spanish and
English are required. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated evidence of
high-quality research and teaching.
