Description:

The School of Critical Studies seeks to appoint a Lecturer in Stylistics based
in the subject area of English Language & Linguistics, which has world-leading
strengths in analysing language in context, including the language of literary
texts. The postholder will contribute to and expand the existing research
strengths in the area of stylistics and discourse and provide research-led
teaching provision at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as
research supervision. In addition, this post will enhance our leading research
theme of corpus linguistics, linked to Glasgow’s ambitious plans for further
fundamental research in Digital Humanities. The ability to contribute to
cross-College research in areas such as language and power or medical
humanities will be an advantage.

Job Purpose:  
For appointment at Grade 7:
To undertake research of international excellence and contribute to knowledge
exchange activities relative to the discipline, contribute to learning and
teaching on agreed programmes and undertake administration and service
activities in line with the School/College’s strategic objectives.
 
For appointment at Grade 8:
To develop, lead and sustain research and scholarship of international
standard and contribute to the delivery of an excellent student experience by
delivering, organising and reviewing agreed teaching, assessment and
administration processes to enhance learning and teaching in the School of
Critical Studies.

Terms and Conditions: 
The salary will be on the Research and Teaching Grade, level 7/8, £36,382 -
£40,927 - £44,382 - £51,799 per annum.
This post is on a full time (35 hrs per week), open ended basis.
