The Linguistics Program at the College of Staten Island of The City University
of New York (CUNY) invites applicants for a position at the rank of Lecturer
in the English Department, beginning August of 2022.

As highly qualified, full-time teaching faculty, lecturers in the CUNY system
are eligible for a contractually-equivalent form of tenure, called a
certificate of continuous employment, which is achieved based on teaching and
service record and may be pursued after five years of service in the rank.

Qualifications:  
Minimum Qualifications:
 - Bachelor's degree in area(s) of expertise, and the ability to teach
successfully.  
   
Preferred Qualifications:
 - A Master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology/Communicative Sciences
and Disorders.

Preference will be given to candidates who have 
 - a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech and Language Pathology
(CCC-SLP) and NY State licensure; 
 - experience teaching in a Linguistics program; 
 - research experience in the areas of Linguistics and/or Speech and Language
Pathology; 
 - clinical experience in a variety of settings (e.g., school and medical
settings) and in multilingual and/or multicultural contexts; and 
 - experience in therapeutic applications of technology (e.g., through use of
augmentative and alternative communication devices). 

Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against
COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Exemption (medical or religious) requests
to this requirement will be considered in accordance with applicable law.
Being fully vaccinated is defined for this purpose as being at least two weeks
past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. Final
candidates must be fully vaccinated as of their first day of employment.
