Linguistic Field(s): Applied Linguistics; Language Acquisition; Ling & Literature

Subject Language(s): German (deu)

Meeting Description:

Literaturwissenschaft
Sprachwissenschaft
Didaktik

The pair Form and Function, known in all philological disciplines, indicates
by its alliteration that the two concepts are closely related to each other.
The task of scientific work is to explore, analyse, describe and evaluate the
relationship between the two concepts, whether they are understood as
oppositional or interactive. The conference will present papers on the topic
from the fields of linguistics, literature studies and language teaching
methodology. The literary papers will focus on both concepts mainly from the
point of view of interdisciplinary relations and explore their intercultural
and multicultural dimensions. The linguistic contributions will mainly answer
two questions: Which formal phenomena are functionally relevant? How do new
functions find their form? The language teaching methodology papers will
discuss the questions of form and function in the field of the preparation of
teaching materials and their application in the teaching process.

Plenary speakers:
prof. dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Ludwig Eichinger:
Prof. PhDr. Věra Janíková, Ph.D.
PhD. Dr. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Dr. Norbert Richard Wolf
Doc. et doc. Iveta Zlá, Ph.D.
