Full Title: Arusha Working Papers in African Linguistics

Linguistic Field(s): General Linguistics

Language Family(ies): Afroasiatic; Khoisan; Niger-Congo; Nilo-Saharan

Call for Papers:

The twenty-first century offers a unique opportunity for scholars and
publishers to release open-access texts on topics that would otherwise be
inaccessible or reduced to a very limited number of printed copies.
Additionally, as scholars continue to look toward African languages to answer
long-standing questions in linguistics, the availability of materials on the
languages of the African continent grows. To this end, the Arusha Working
Papers in African Linguistics (AWPAL) would like to publish a special volume
specifically containing book reviews of scholarship published in open-access
venues from the last five years. We have started collating a list of such
texts with their accompanying links, which can be found here:
https://arushalinguistics.org/?page_id=397 Although this is an open call (i.e.
without a firm deadline), if we receive enough submissions by the end of this
year (31 December 2022), we will be able to release a special volume; if not,
we will release selected reviews in forthcoming volumes. If you are not in a
position right now that affords you enough time to contribute, please consider
sharing this CFPs with your colleagues and advanced graduate students.
