The Second Workshop on Early Language in Neurodevelopmental Disorders
Short Title: NeuroD-WELL 2022

Date: 29-Aug-2022 - 29-Aug-2022
Location: Lisbon, Portugal
Contact: Sónia Frota
Contact Email: neurodwell2022 at gmail.com
Meeting URL: http://labfon.letras.ulisboa.pt/NeuroD-WELL2/index.html

Linguistic Field(s): Clinical Linguistics; Cognitive Science; Language Acquisition; Neurolinguistics; Psycholinguistics

Meeting Description:

The main focus of the NeuroD-WELL series of workshops is the early
development of language in individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders, or
at risk of developing language impairments due to familial risk or other risk
factors. It is known that language deficits occur in a variety of
neurodevelopmental disorders, as in intellectual disabilities, language
disorder, social communication disorder, or autism spectrum disorder, as well
as in at-risk groups. However, little is known about early emerging language
abilities and their development in these groups of children. We are thus
interested in infants’ and toddlers’ language perception and learning
abilities during the first years of life, and how they relate to language
abilities in low risk, typical development peers, as well as to later language
outcomes.

NeuroD-WELL aims at bringing together researchers and practitioners working on
language development and neurodevelopmental disorders, from a
multidisciplinary perspective (Clinical Linguistics, Cognitive Science,
Linguistics, Neurolinguistics, Psycholinguistics, Psychiatry, Psychology,
Speech and Hearing Sciences, Speech Therapy, among others).

Program:

The NeuroDWELL 2022 program is now available.

Our two keynote speakers are:
Laura Bosch (Universitat de Barcelona)
Dean d'Souza (University of London)

The program includes a special session on early Predictors of Language
Outcomes.
