Meeting Description:

The 34th North American Conference on Chinese Linguistics (NACCL-34) will be
hosted by the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at Indiana
University Bloomington on September 24-25, 2022, with a pre-conference
workshop on Data and Methods on September 23, 2022. NACCL-34 invites abstracts
in all subfields of Chinese linguistics, including but not limited to,
phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, dialectology,
historical linguistics, psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, corpus
linguistics, and Chinese language pedagogy.

The theme of this year’s conference is ''Data, Methods, and Application in
Chinese Linguistics”, which is meant to draw attention to the nature of
different types of linguistic data, the ways data can be handled and analyzed,
and the applications of these fundamental methodological issues in linguistics
and language pedagogy. All subfields of Chinese linguistics have undergone
significant development in the past decades, accumulating large amounts of
data collected using different methods. We hope to help researchers share
their practices of data processing through paying attention to the methods in
dealing with linguistic data.
