Location: Anywhere | Remote
Hours: Flexible, Freelancers must be able to commit to a minimum of 10 hours
per week during projects

SIDE (www.side.com) is a Multi-award-winning games dialogue specialist and
we're looking for a Gujarati Language checker to join our Language Audio
Checking team. This role is home-working and the tasks can be completed at
home at your own leisure, within the given deadline.
SIDE works at the cutting edge of interactive media as a provider of audio
services for the global entertainment market – with credits including The
Witcher 3, Hitman 2, and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
SIDE has over 20+ years of experience, an international network of resources,
and state-of-the-art studios, SIDE’s award-winning team of technical and
creative experts still hold the same collective intention: To develop the
truest interpretation of each client’s vision - for audiences of every genre,
on any platform, in all languages.

Responsibilities:
 - Pronunciation Transcription: transcribe words as they are commonly
pronounced in your language, according to the client’s phonemic transcription
conventions.
 - Pronunciation Approval: evaluate pronunciation transcriptions for
correctness
 - Proofreading: proofreading of lines for a script to be used during
recordings; edit lines as needed according to the client’s proofreading
conventions
 - Recording QC: perform a number of quality checks on lines composed of
audio, text, and additional data annotation fields, assessing the audio for
overall recording quality, voice quality, and correct pronunciation
 - Ensuring the text matches the audio exactly and is formatted per the
client’s conventions
 - Marking prosody and adding any additional data requested

Requirements:
 - University-level coursework in general linguistics, phonetics, phonology,
and experience in phonemic transcription in your native language (Marathi).
 - BA/BS in Linguistics required
 - You should be a formally trained linguist able to do audio and phonemic
transcriptions, audio analysis, and other speech linguistic tasks.
 - Successful candidates will be part of a team processing large amounts of
linguistic data and carrying out a number of tasks to improve the quality of
our client’s text-to-speech synthesis for Marathi.
