The 16th annual Lancaster Linguistics and English Language Postgraduate

example, the use of cutting-edge methods or exploring under-studied areas. The
following panels have been proposed and you may address your abstract to any
one of these. If your abstract does not fit one, please submit it anyway.
Whilst we believe these panel themes are inclusive of the majority of
disciplines and specialisations, we are happy to consider abstracts on topics
not listed below.

- Phonetics and Phonology
- Pragmatics and Literacy Studies
- TESOL and Language Pedagogy

Word limit for submissions: 300 words excluding references

When submitting an abstract, you may choose to apply for a poster presentation
or a longer talk.
Posters can be in either portrait or landscape orientation and will be on
display for around 45 minutes.
Talks should be 20 minutes long and will be followed by a 5-10 minute Q&A.

We intend to hold this year’s LAEL PG conference IN PERSON, as long as
COVID-19 restrictions allow. Should the rules or the situation regarding
infection rates etc. change for the worse, we hope to go ahead with the
conference in an online format, instead. If this is the case, all presenters
and attendees will be made aware of any and all changes as far in advance as
possible. In this eventuality, speakers will deliver live talks and Q&A
sessions, and poster sessions will be carried out on an online platform.

We are very much looking forward to receiving your abstracts if you are a
Doctoral or Master’s student. For more information, please consult the
website: http://wp.lancs.ac.uk/laelpgconference/. If you have any further
questions, please email m.dewhurst1 at lancaster.ac.uk.

All the best,
The LAEL PG conference team.
