Particular attention will be paid to candidates with a demonstrated interest in languages, literature, the humanities, or library and information studies. 


Description:
The Modern Language Association (MLA) seeks an intern for summer 2022 to
assist with research, testing, and administrative tasks relating to the MLA
International Bibliography, the leading database for research in world
languages and literatures, linguistics, film, folklore, and writing studies.

Reporting principally to the publisher of the MLA International Bibliography,
the intern will search for and update information on publishers, journals, and
authors; analyze and update MLA bibliographic data; assist with usability and
error testing on library platforms; and perform related work as needed.
Interns also receive an overview of the indexing process. 

Candidates should possess strong organizational, writing, and research skills
and be comfortable working with Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and Google
Sheets. Particular attention will be paid to candidates with a demonstrated
interest in languages, literature, the humanities, or library and information
studies.

The bibliographic database intern will work remotely and will receive a $960
stipend every other week for the ten-week internship. The intern will work
with staff members and participate in regular video conferences, communicating
with team members through e-mail, documents shared on Google Drive, and our
