Meeting Description: 

The International Linguistic Association (ILA) will hold its 66th annual
meeting at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, in New Brunswick, NJ.
The theme of the meeting is Language and Social Justice, and the program
includes 55 presentations from a wide array of linguistic sub-disciplines on
topics such as Linguistic Hegemony and Resistance, Language and Gender,
Language and Inequality, Language Diversity and Change, Discourse and
Pragmatics, Field Linguistics, Scripts and Writing, Philology and the History
of Scholarship. The ILA is also organizing a K-12 Teachers Workshop on
''Languaging for Social Justice'' to be held in tandem with its annual
meeting.
