Meeting Description:

We are pleased to announce that the 35th Paris Meeting on East Asian
Linguistics/ 35e Journées de linguistique d'Asie orientale (JLAO35) organised
by the Centre de Recherches Linguistiques sur l’Asie Orientale
(CNRS-EHESS-INALCO) will be held on July 7~9, 2022, (probably in hybrid mode,
depending on the epidemic situation) with a special workshop on ''East Asian
Writing Systems in Contact'' on July 9, 2022.

Held every year since 1985, the Paris Meeting on East Asian Linguistics (JLAO)
is intended to be a place of academic exchange. It has welcomed some of the
most renowned scholars in East Asian linguistics while allowing doctoral
students and young researchers to present their work on the languages of East
and Southeast Asia.

All the subfields of linguistics (with the exception of language teaching) are
represented, for example:
- diachronic or synchronic linguistics
- phonology, morphology, syntax and semantics
- writing systems
- field linguistics
- theoretical linguistics
- sociolinguistics
- dialectology
- typology
- cognitive liguistics
- corpus linguistics


Call for Papers:

We invite abstracts for original, unpublished presentations of 20 minutes
(plus 10 minutes for discussion) on any aspect of East Asian and Southeast
Asian linguistics. 
The working languages of the conference are English and French. 
Abstracts should not exceed one page (A4), including examples, but not
including bibliographic references to be provided on a second page.
Abstracts should be submitted in PDF format, with 2.5 cm margins, font size
11pt (in Times or Times New Roman), single space.

Authors are invited to submit their anonymous abstract via Easychair
(https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=jlao35)
