Description:

Applications are invited for: Instructor I/II in the Chan Feng Men-ling Chan
Shuk-lin Language Centre [Ref. B/538/09]

Duties :
 - Teach German language courses and/or other courses as assigned;
 - Contribute to curriculum design and materials development;
 - Contribute to projects, services and activities; and
 - Take up an area of responsibility such as course coordination or
service/activity support.

Requirements :
A Master’s degree in German as a Foreign Language or closely-related field
(e.g. MA in Foreign Language Teaching [German major]; MA in Applied German
Linguistics) OR a Master’s degree with an undergraduate degree in German or at
least 18 postgraduate credits in German; and at least 2 years’ full-time
teaching experience (post-graduation) at the secondary level or above.
Substantial experience in teaching German at tertiary level and proven
experience in the development of materials in both face-to-face and
technology-mediated modes would be an advantage. 

Preference may be given to candidates meeting the requirements outlined above
who also possess a graduate qualification in teaching English as a
foreign/additional/second language (e.g. CELTA, DELTA, Dip TESL, etc.),
demonstrated teaching experience in English for Academic Purposes (EAP), and
willingness to teach EAP courses as needed.

Candidates with 4 years’ appropriate postgraduate full-time teaching
experience may be considered for appointment as Instructor I.

Salary and Conditions of Service:  
The remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with
qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include gratuity, leave,
medical and dental schemes.  The appointment will be made on a fixed-term
contract.
