Description:

The UCL Department of Linguistics is looking to hire a phonologist with a
commitment to world-leading research. The appointment will be a permanent,
full-time post at the Lecturer level (equivalent to Assistant Professor). We
are looking for candidates who have a proven record of research excellence,
with high-quality publications commensurate with the stage of their academic
career. Within the general area of phonology, we welcome candidates who employ
a wide range of approaches, including experimental methods, computational
methods, corpus studies, fieldwork, and so on. We seek candidates who are
engaged in a cutting-edge program of research which enhances the department’s
research portfolio and which gives rise to PhD projects and research funding.
 
The Department of Linguistics at UCL is part of the broader Division of
Psychology and Languages Sciences (Faculty of Brain Sciences), which offers
enhanced opportunities for cross-disciplinary research. We welcome candidates
who can build new collaborations, both within UCL and beyond. Applicants
should be able to teach core modules in phonology as well as a more
specialised module connected to the applicant’s area of expertise. The
successful candidate will contribute to the department’s research, teaching,
graduate supervision, and administration.

The appointed candidate will start work at UCL on 1 September 2022. The
appointment will be made within grade 8 which currently has a salary range of
£45,610 - £53,757 (inclusive of London allowance).
