Job Description: 
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a cutting-edge text-to-speech
synthesis (TTS) technology company. DeepZen is looking for remote freelance
Linguists (hourly rate) to be able to complete audio and phonemic
transcription for French, as well as to be involved in other speech linguistic
tasks.  

Location: Remote 
 
Duties Include: 
Your work will be focused on improving the lexicon and pronunciation of new
content within the TTS system. 
 - Phonemic transcription of lexicon entries. 
 - Classifying and annotating linguistic data. 
 - Evaluating performance of system and finding methodical ways of improving
pronunciations. 
 - Evaluating data quality. 
 
Requirements: 
 - Clear, concise, effective written and spoken communication skills in
English and French. 
 - Strong knowledge of French orthography and grammar. 
 - Experience in phonemic/phonetic transcription (from coursework or other). 
 - Detailed-oriented with strong organisational and communication skills. 
 - Obtained or actively pursuing a degree in a language-related field such as
linguistics or translation. 
 - Keen interest in technology and computer-literate (need to be able to use
in-house tools).
