Meeting Description: 

The annual conference of the German Linguistic Society (DGfS) will be held
online via Zoom and Gather from Wednesday, February 23, 2022 – Friday,
February 25 pm; the programme is scheduled according to the Central European
Time (UTC +1).

We are happy to announce four plenary lectures:
Heather Burnett (Paris), Pragmatic Sociolinguistics: Formalizing the Social
World
Penelope Eckert (Stanford), Truth and Social Meaning
Elin McCready (Tokyo), Two Kinds of Linguistic Bonds
Arnulf Deppermann (Mannheim), The Normative Order of Talk-in-Interaction:
Expectation and Obligation vs. Scopes for Choice and Negotiation

The conference programme also offers 15 workshops on different subjects
ranging from historical linguistics over punctuation to discourse. You will

Early bird registration is possible till January 31; afterwards, a slightly
higher fee is required. The registered participants will get the necessary
links and information shortly before the beginning of the conference.
The conference hosts the Annual Conference of the ALP on the 22.02.2022
(“Pragmatik multimodal”;

PhD forum, a tutorial of the Computational Linguistics Section and a Teacher's
Information Day “Performative Zugänge zu DaZ und Sprachbildung im Fach” (in
