Description:

We invite applications to the Program in Psychological and Cognitive Science
at the University of Genoa, Italy. This is a 3-year PhD program with a
teaching component in the first year. Of interest to this mailing list, we
also seek candidates eager to learn and combine experimental and theoretical
methods to the study of language, with a particular focus on the semantics and
the pragmatics of natural language.

We are particularly interested in developing one of these themes:
 - Pragmatic processing in a/typical population
 - Pragmatic processing across the lifespan
 - Processing presuppositions and implicatures
 - Expressive language
 - Speech acts
 - Contextual dependence
 - Figurative language

Candidates can apply in English, and the entire program can be done in
English. PhD scholarships covering fees and living expenses are available to
national and international students alike. The PhD student will collaborate
with the Laboratory of Language and Cognition (https://lclab.unige.it/) and
will be actively involved in the activities of the XPRAG.it Community
(https://www.xpragit.com/)
