Meeting Description:

The conference aims to bring together higher education professionals, applied
linguists, and language technologists working on issues related to language
learning and teaching, namely: MOOCs, OERs, new approaches in language
teaching and learning, academic mobility, linguistic description of languages,
linguistic diversity, language for specific purposes, digital transformation
in Education and new educational technologies, new collaboration projects,
multiculturalism, and inclusion.


Call for Papers:

The Faculty of Arts of University of Porto (PT), in collaboration with the
University for Foreigners of Perugia (IT), the University of Masaryk (CZ), the
Jagiellonian University (PL), the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University Skopje
(MK), and the Federazione Nazionale Insegnanti Centro di Iniziativa per
l’Europa - FENICE (IT), partners for the project LMOOC4Slav - Romance
Languages for Slavic-Speaking University Students, funded under the Erasmus+
programme, organizes the International Conference “Language MOOCS and OERS :
new trends and challenges”, to be held in Porto on 7-8 October 2022.

The conference aims to bring together higher education professionals, applied
linguists, and language technologists working on issues related to language
learning and teaching, namely: MOOCs, OERs, new approaches in language
teaching and learning, academic mobility, linguistic description of languages,
linguistic diversity, language for specific purposes, digital transformation
in Education and new educational technologies, new collaboration projects,
multiculturalism, and inclusion.  
We invite proposals on, but not limited to, the following themes of the
conference:

1. LMOOCs design
2. MOOCs and OER/OEP for language teachers’ development 
3. Pedagogical approaches in LMOOCs and OERs
4. Assessing LMOOCs
5. LMOOCS and skills development
6. LMOOCs for improving multilingualism and interculturality
7. Mobile-assisted language teaching and learning
8. Informal language learning and technologies
9. Virtual classrooms, eLearning, and ePortfolio
10. Technologies and/or Multimedia for Languages for Specific Purposes 
11. Validation and certification of language skills through MOOCs
12. Learning strategies development through online environments/platforms
13. Mobility - online environments/platforms

Abstract submission:
The new deadline for abstracts submission is June 30, 2022.

Submitted abstracts will be selected in double-blind peer review mode based on
originality, technical quality, and presentation.
Abstracts may be submitted in one of the following languages: Portuguese,
Italian, English.
Yet, for any material supporting conference presentations, authors must use
English to allow broader understanding and participation.

Conference fees and registration
The conference is a multiplier event of the LMOOC4SLAV project.
Participation is free of charge for all participants, with or without
communication.
