Description:
General:
The 11th Computational Linguistics Fall School of the Special Interest Group
of Computational Linguistic of the German Linguistic Society (Deutsche
Gesellschaft für Sprachwissenschaft, DGfS) will take place from 19th to 23th
of September 2022: It is organized by the Institute for German Language and
Linguistics (IdSL) at the Humboldt University in Berlin and the Leibniz Center
of General Linguistics (ZAS).

This fall school is a biennial event for students who wish to broaden their
knowledge of techniques and methods used in natural language processing in
fields not traditionally taught in standard degree programs. 

This year two courses, taught in English, will be offered:
- Heriberto Cuayahuitl, Lincoln University: Deep Reinforcement Learning for
Dialogue Generation
- Carina Silberer, Stuttgart University: Visually Grounded Lexical Semantics

There will also be an evening lecture by Tibor Kiss (Linguistics Data Science
Lab) entitled: From Architect to Nothingness: what happened to Linguistics in
Computational Linguistics?
Additionally, there is also an industry exchange forum.
 
Participation fees:
First come, first serve. We go along with this motto - until 17 August 2022,
interested parties have the chance to purchase an early-bird ticket (40,00
euros). After that, the regular ticket costs 60,00 euros. The number of
participants ist limited to 50.

The event is organized by: Dr. Anton Benz (Leibniz Center for General
Linguistics) and Prof. Dr. Stefan Müller (Humboldt University of Berlin).


Tuition: 40 EURO

Tuition Explanation: early-bird Ticket (17.06-17.07): 40 Euro
regular Ticket (17.07-05.09): 60 Euro


Financial Aid: Applications accepted until 17-Jul-2022
