Description:

The English section of the Department of Modern Languages: Linguistics,
Literature & Translation is looking for a lecteur (doctoral assistant) in
English for commencement of employment on September 15, 2022.

The candidate (m/f/x) needs to be a native speaker and hold a doctorate in
Language and Linguistics with a thesis in the domain of English linguistics
(with a preference for functional or cognitive approaches) or contrastive
linguistics (English/French). Experience in translation (English/French) or a
good command of French (especially receptive skills) will be regarded as an
asset.

The job responsibilities of the lecturer consist of:
 - Teaching the class ‘Civilisation anglaise’ (society and culture in
Anglophone
countries) and a class in the domain of English linguistics or English
language (to be
determined in function of the profile of the candidate);
 - Support for the classes and exercise sessions of English language,
linguistics and/or
translation ;
 - Supervision of master theses;
 - Administrative services.
All classes are taught in English. The appointment is temporary (2 years,
twice renewable for two years, afterwards possibly renewable four times for
one year, hence 10 years maximum)
