CALL FOR CHAPTERS
Main editor Alessandro CAPONE
University of Messina

Please submit papers with focus on African languages or other languages,
including European languages.

This book will follow the path of the previous book edited by Parvaresh and
myself on the event of death, ritual proceedings, interactions and pragmemes.
The focus is on language in context (including the cultural context).

Every article should focus on language games, speech acts in a sequence, or
pragmemes, after a lengthy explanation of the local culture.

The book will be submitted to my series with Springer (Perspectives in
pragmatics, philosophy, psychology).

Authors are advised to discuss Istvan Kecskes, Jacob L. Mey, Gumperz, Dell
Hymes, Capone (on pragmemes; see the papers in J. Pragmatics and in Lingua))
and articles appeared in Intercultural Pragmatics.

If we receive a good number of articles, I will ask Professor Mey to coedit
this volume.

Please also send a CV and long abstracts (500 words) within 3 months from now.
If someone can help me obtain numerous papers about African cultures and
languages or about other non-European countries, I will consider her as
co-editor, provided she exhibits a strong CV.

This will be an exciting project.
